Free familiarisation material from GL.

We recommend children become familiar with the multiple-choice format, content, and question types found in the test. To help, GL offer 10 hours of free familiarisation materials covering a range of question styles—especially useful for verbal and non-verbal reasoning, which may be new to some children. NOTE: for the West Midlands Consortium, the children only need to complete Comprehension. The timings and quantity of questions are also slightly varied.

Familiarisation and practice papers both support 11+ preparation but differ in key ways. Familiarisation papers are free PDFs for home printing, while practice papers are purchasable booklets. Each set has unique content. Familiarisation papers build general test awareness; practice papers provide thorough preparation under timed conditions.

We also suggest children attend a range of our mock tests, workshops, and focus sessions to gain practical strategies and build the stamina needed for success.
