Welcome to your trial lesson with Abbie
We’re really looking forward to welcoming you and your child to One to One Tutoring for their trial lesson!
When you arrive, you’ll be met by Abbie, who will help your child feel settled and comfortable.
Abbie is a dedicated educator and passionate advocate for inclusion, with extensive experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and diverse learning needs. With a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, specialising in Adverse Childhood Experiences, and a background in safeguarding, alternative provision and higher education, Abbie brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to her work.
As a parent of a neurodivergent child herself, Abbie has a personal understanding of the importance of inclusion, confidence and ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The trial lesson is not a formal assessment. It’s simply an opportunity for us to get to know your child, and for you and your child to get to know us and experience how our lessons work.
During the session, we’ll work with your child to identify their strengths and areas of challenge and begin helping them develop greater confidence. The lesson will be designed around your child and the information you have shared with us. As we get to know them better, we’ll tailor future lessons to their individual needs, interests, likes and strengths.
Please bring a drink with you. If your child is likely to get hungry, you’re also welcome to bring a small, healthy snack.
At the end of the session, Abbie will provide some general feedback, and Chris will then be in touch with you to discuss your child’s experience and possible next steps.
We hope your child enjoys their first experience with us, and we look forward to welcoming you soon!
