Welcome to your trial lesson with Chris

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you and your child to One to One Tutoring for their trial lesson! When you arrive, you’ll be met by Chris who will help your child feel settled and comfortable.

Chris is an experienced primary teacher with over 18 years’ experience inspiring young learners and raising standards in English and maths. He has extensive experience supporting pupils through the 11+ curriculum and is passionate about helping children build confidence and achieve their potential. With a particular interest in neurodiverse learners, Chris adapts his teaching to recognise and support each child’s individual strengths and needs.

Outside of teaching, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and making the most of his free time together. He loves taking his dog for long walks, discovering new places and enjoying days out. He has a real passion for films and particularly enjoys superhero films. He also loves music, both listening to it and creating his own, and enjoys exploring new interests and experiences whenever he can.

The trial lesson is not a formal assessment. It’s simply an opportunity for us to get to know your child, and for you and your child to get to know us and experience how our lessons work.

During the session, we’ll work with your child to identify their strengths and areas of challenge and begin helping them develop greater confidence. The lesson will be designed around your child and the information you have shared with us. As we get to know them better, we’ll tailor future lessons to their individual needs, interests, likes and strengths.

Please bring a drink with you. If your child is likely to get hungry, you’re also welcome to bring a small, healthy snack.

At the end of the session, Chris will provide some general feedback, and then be in touch with you to discuss your child’s experience and possible next steps.

We hope your child enjoys their first experience with us, and we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Every child starts somewhere: sometimes all it takes is the right encouragement, the right environment, and the confidence to have a go.
