Welcome to your trial lesson with Nic

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you and your child to One to One Tutoring for their trial lesson! When you arrive, you’ll be met by Nic who will help your child feel settled and comfortable.

Nic is a passionate and dedicated educator with over 25 years of teaching experience. She has a particular love of English and reading and enjoys inspiring children to develop their confidence in literacy and discover the joy that books, stories and language can bring. As both an educator and a parent, Nic has a deep understanding of and passion for neurodiversity. She is committed to recognising and celebrating individual differences, supporting children to understand their unique strengths and needs, and creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Outside of her professional life, Nic enjoys spending quality time with her family and exploring new places. She particularly loves visiting France and discovering different countries and cultures across Europe. Her enthusiasm for learning, understanding others and celebrating individuality is reflected both in her personal life and in her approach to supporting children.

The trial lesson is not a formal assessment. It’s simply an opportunity for us to get to know your child, and for you and your child to get to know us and experience how our lessons work.

During the session, we’ll work with your child to identify their strengths and areas of challenge and begin helping them develop greater confidence. The lesson will be designed around your child and the information you have shared with us. As we get to know them better, we’ll tailor future lessons to their individual needs, interests, likes and strengths.

Please bring a drink with you. If your child is likely to get hungry, you’re also welcome to bring a small, healthy snack.

At the end of the session, Nic will provide some general feedback, and Chris will then be in touch with you to discuss your child’s experience and possible next steps.

We hope your child enjoys their first experience with us, and we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Every child starts somewhere: sometimes all it takes is the right encouragement, the right environment, and the confidence to have a go.
