Hope you had a lovely weekend. At least the weather has now improved (even if it is freezing!!)

A Friendly Reminder

Please try to watch the learning video sent before each lesson. These videos gently introduce key ideas, and children who watch them come in feeling more confident and make quicker progress. I’m also creating some new spatial videos, so thank you for bearing with me.

Each week we set a small but important piece of homework to help either pre-teach new concepts or consolidate what we’ve covered in class. This week’s homework is due in next week’s lesson and is also printed on the back of the booklet.

We also recommend a little independent study: just 20 minutes a day, five days a week. Combined with our weekly hour together, that adds up to more than 150 extra hours of learning a year—nearly six additional school weeks.

Vocabulary really matters. Each week we set:

A “Word of the Week”
Key vocabulary from lessons

Vocabulary supports both exam success and everyday communication. Our regular quizzes show that “little and often” makes the biggest difference, especially with more challenging, sophisticated words.

Finally, please remember to bring the Ideas Catcher to each lesson so we can keep building it together. If your child has lost it please let us know.
