Y4 11+ Week Commencing 4th May (week 5 of 6)
We hope you had a lovely weekend and managed to enjoy the ever-changeable weather!
👉Just a quick reminder that we are open as usual on the Bank Holiday Monday. Our next block is now open for bookings, with full details provided below.
We are now entering the final 10 weeks of term. As children progress into the 9–10 book levels, you may notice a drop in their scores. This is completely normal, as they begin working with more challenging material.
We will also be launching our summer programme shortly. Spaces will be limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
In addition, we will be offering summer one-to-one sessions, allowing us to focus on any areas where your child may benefit from extra support. These sessions are also very limited and tend to fill quickly, so early booking is strongly advised.
Holiday Provision
Throughout the holidays, we will continue to offer workshops (each covering different content), mock tests, and 1:1 lessons. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with booking links shared in the coming weeks.
Resources & Homework
If you have already placed a book order, your resources should have been distributed. If not, ordering details can be found in the Homework section.
If you are still waiting to receive materials, please get in touch. A small amount of stock is still available for those who have not yet ordered.
Important Reminders
Parking
Please do not park on site, as the parking spaces belong to other organisations using the venue. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Attendance
Classes run Monday to Saturday. If your child is unable to attend a session, please notify us as early as possible. Where space allows, we will do our best to offer an alternative session within the same week.
We are open on Bank Holiday Monday as usual. If you cannot attend, please contact Chris as soon as possible and we will try to accommodate you where we can. Please note that this may not always be possible. Do not attend an alternative session without prior arrangement.
As a reminder, we are now entering the final term with just 11 weeks of regular teaching remaining. We recommend gradually increasing home study to around 20 minutes per day, ideally split into 10–20 minute sessions.
If you are not already attending additional sessions, we strongly encourage you to consider them, as they are highly effective for boosting confidence and addressing any gaps.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are looking forward to a productive and successful term ahead.
Warm regards,
Chris, Nic, and the team

Our Verbal Reasoning GL Focus Sessions are part of our spiral curriculum, where skills are revisited and built upon over time to ensure strong understanding and retention. Designed for the GL 11+ exam used by the West Midlands Consortium, they reflect the structure and challenge of the real test. Over the three-week programme, pupils rotate through key question types including: coding, number problems, sequences, vocabulary, and analogies, each time increasing in difficulty. This spiral approach strengthens accuracy, speed, and problem-solving under timed conditions.
We raise the level of challenge beyond regular classwork, ensuring pupils are fully stretched. Those who attend and practise at home become more confident because they gain familiarity with a wide range of question styles, improve their techniques, and learn to manage time effectively. By revisiting concepts in increasingly complex ways, our spiral curriculum helps children build a secure foundation while developing the confidence and resilience needed for the most demanding verbal reasoning questions.
