Y5 11+ September READY update
Dear Parents,
I hope you are well and that you and your family have enjoyed the summer holidays. I can hardly believe September is nearly here, bringing with it the start of a brand-new school term.
Our term begins week commencing 8th September, which allows children a week to settle back into school before diving into their 11+ preparation with us. You can now book our weekly lessons, which will run over the next six weeks. (The full schedule will shortly be updated on our booking system.)

In addition, we are offering focused small-group sessions to strengthen specific areas of the GL 11+ test:
✨ Verbal Reasoning Focus (Weeks commencing 8th, 15th & 22nd September)
📅 Mondays 4:30pm or Saturdays 3:30pm
These sessions will provide a deep dive into the most common Verbal Reasoning question types. Children will practise vocabulary development, pattern recognition, and problem-solving strategies to increase accuracy and speed.

✨ Non-Verbal Reasoning Focus (Weeks commencing 29th September, 6th & 13th October)
📅 Mondays 4:30pm or Saturdays 3:30pm
These classes will explore the key Non-Verbal Reasoning topics that regularly appear in the exam. We will focus on tackling multi-step and trickier problems with clear strategies, helping to build strong exam confidence.

📖 Weekly English Lessons – Wednesdays 6:00pm
Tailored to develop comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary skills. These lessons are especially valuable for children who find comprehension challenging or for those where English is not their first language.

Designed to strengthen mental arithmetic, number fluency, and problem-solving. Perfect for children needing an extra boost in Maths or wishing to sharpen their speed and accuracy.

👩👩👦 FREE Online Parent Workshop – Wednesday 17th September, 7:30pm
This session will give an overview of the GL 11+ exam in the West Midlands, which assesses:
English (comprehension, spelling, punctuation, grammar, vocabulary)
Maths (arithmetic, problem solving, reasoning)
Verbal Reasoning (logic, vocabulary, code-breaking style questions)
Non-Verbal Reasoning (pattern recognition, sequences, shapes, and spatial reasoning)
We will cover:
