Home Practice: Little and often really does make a difference! Please encourage regular homework, Kahoot quizzes and 10-minute tests. We'll be monitoring completion more closely this block.
New Vocabulary Quizzes: Please complete these before each lesson, ideally together, to help children become familiar with upcoming vocabulary.
Focus Sessions: Three-week sessions covering English, Maths and Spatial Reasoning, helping children build confidence, understanding and independence. Mondays 4:30PM or Saturdays 2:30PM Find out more
Reading Assessment: Please complete the attached assessment with your child and return it to Nic, Sarah or me. We'll provide individual recommendations to support reading at home. Reading guidance
Possible 11+ Test Date Changes: There has been discussion about tests moving to July of Year 5, but nothing has been confirmed locally. We'll keep you updated. Read more

VERBAL REASONING FOCUS SESSIONS BOOK HERE

Our Verbal Reasoning Focus Sessions are a three-week deep dive into the subject.
We teach concepts explicitly, breaking down the skills and strategies children need, before giving them opportunities to practise.
We then revisit those concepts throughout the three weeks, helping children strengthen their understanding and become more confident applying the strategies to different question types. The aim isn't simply to complete more questions. It's to develop secure strategies, deeper understanding and greater independence — so children can apply what they've learned during their own study at home.
Three weeks. One subject. Explicit teaching, repeated practice and secure strategies.
Please note if you cannot make either of these sessions please let me know. If there is enough demand, I can offer the sessions out on a different day of the week!

Help your child build confidence and excel in their GL 11+ Non-Verbal Reasoning with our focused NVR sessions. Designed to break down the more complex elements, each session is paced carefully to ensure your child fully understands and develops key skills in areas such as coding, sequences, matrices, and analogies, along with other challenging NVR topics. By mastering these essential techniques, your child will feel more prepared and self-assured for the 11+ exam.

👉Half-Term One-to-One Sessions with Nic & Sarah

We have a limited number of one-to-one sessions available on Thursday morning during half term with both Nic and Sarah. These sessions are a great opportunity to focus on anything your child needs a little extra help with. Whether there's a particular topic they're finding tricky, a few gaps to fill or they simply need a confidence boost, we can tailor the session to suit them.
Perfect for getting ahead of the new half term or preparing for an upcoming workshop or mock test!
